We've always seen the shop as more than just a bookshop and wanted it to be a place you were as comfortable buying a coffee or signing up for an event as you were buying a book. Now, we fully realise that vision with the launch of our language classes, a key part of our cultural programming!

Each class has a maximum of 8 writers, meaning you get the support and attention you need
Courses run for around six weeks, which means you don't need to lock yourself in for a full year

Louise Finnigan is a short story-writer and novelist from Manchester. She has been longlisted for the Mairtin Crawford Award and shortlisted for the Cambridge story prize and the Bristol prize. She has been a finalist in The Manchester Fiction Prize. Her story, Muscle and Mouth, made its debut with Fly on The Wall Press as part of their shorts series. She loves meeting other writers and championing those who are just starting out. She has a particular interest in fiction that explores social barriers as well as conflict, confusion and chaos.
Blending a mix of plotting, character work and story shaping, you'll spend six weeks honing your fiction draft.
